IJCO at Kirkwood Community College
The Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra will play a concert in Ballantyne Auditorium at Kirkwood Community College. The Kirkwood Jazz Ensemble will play an opening set, followed by an unforgettable night of music from this world-class ensemble.

IJCO at the Redstone Room
University of Northern Iowa Professor and award-winning jazz composer Mike Conrad brings Iowa’s premiere large jazz ensemble back to his hometown for a special performance at Common Chord, home of the Redstone Room. This 17-piece all-star band has performed in Des Moines (Hoyt Sherman Place, Noce), Cedar Rapids (CSPS Hall, Jazz Under the Stars), Iowa City (James Theater, Coralville Center for the Performing Arts), Cedar Falls (Oster Regent Theatre, River Place Plaza), and multiple venues in Davenport. Their "Fertile Soil Suite" (2021) earned Mike Conrad a SONIC Award from the International Society of Jazz Arrangers and Composers. The band plays music by Bob Washut, Chris Merz, Gates Thomas, Gabriel Espinosa, and other Iowa writers, showcasing the best jazz musicians that the state has to offer.

IJCO at Coralville Center for the Arts
University of Northern Iowa Professor Mike Conrad brings Iowa’s premiere large jazz ensemble to Coralville for a special performance at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. This concert will feature an opening set by the Iowa City High School Jazz Ensemble, and some brand new music for the IJCO, including a commissioned piece that 2023 Sammy Nestico Award-winner Conrad wrote for the United States Air Force Band "Airmen of Note."
Join us for an evening of original music by the likes of Bob Washut, Chris Merz, and John Rapson, featuring a 17-piece all-star band.

IJCO at the Oster Regent Theatre in Cedar Falls
For the first time since June of 2021, the IJCO will perform in Cedar Falls! This special concert will take place downtown at the historic Oster Regent Theatre, featuring guest soloist Bob Washut on the world premiere of his piece, “Cedar Rock.”

IJCO in Bettendorf - Polyrhythms 3rd Sunday Jazz
The Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra is kicking off the Polyrhythm's 2023 Third Sunday Jazz Series. Becherer Hall at Rivermont Collegiate in Bettendorf will be the setting for an evening of exciting music, including a brand new piece by Mike Conrad and a Gates Thomas arrangement of the Bix Beiderbecke classic, “Davenport Blues.”
